Family, friends, and the Jefferson City, Missouri community are mourning the loss of Jason Edward Davenport, who passed away on June 4, 2026, at the age of 46.
Born on October 18, 1979, in California, Missouri, Jason was the son of Phillip Davenport and Judy Hardester. He graduated from Jefferson City High School as a member of the Class of 1998 before embarking on a life marked by service, education, and a relentless pursuit of knowledge.
Shortly after high school, Jason joined the United States Army, serving his country with honor and dedication. He later continued his military career in the Army National Guard, ultimately attaining the rank of Captain. Alongside his service, he pursued higher education, earning a master’s degree from Missouri State University.
Jason was known for his remarkable curiosity and determination. He possessed an analytical mind and an eagerness to learn, often immersing himself in subjects that captured his interest. Whether studying Forex trading, repairing small engines, or researching emerging technologies, he approached every challenge with enthusiasm and a desire to master new skills.
Those who knew Jason remember him as someone who never stopped learning. He enjoyed solving problems, sharing knowledge, and exploring innovative ideas. Among his passions was a strong interest in nuclear energy and its potential to provide sustainable solutions for future generations.
Above all else, Jason was devoted to his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Julie Davenport; his mother, Judy Hardester; his children, Jacob, James, Jonah, and Jenna Davenport; his sister, Sherry Ross (Sean); and numerous extended family members, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Phillip Davenport.
Friends and loved ones remember Jason as a devoted husband, caring father, respected military officer, and loyal friend whose intelligence, perseverance, and generosity left a lasting impact on everyone around him.
While his passing leaves an immense void, his legacy of service, lifelong learning, and dedication to family will continue to inspire those who knew him.
